A new headstone was dedicated at 10:00 AM on August 5, 2006 for Patrick and Agnes Butler at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Cypress Inn in Wayne County, Tennessee. The new headstone preserves the symbols and inscriptions from the original separate markers.

A unique footstone honoring Patrick's service in both the Confederate and Union Calvaries during the Civil War was also dedicated.

The impressive dedication ceremony included a 21 gun salute fired by the 27th Alabama Infantry CSA (Reformed).
