Parish to William Phillips of the same for 21-pounds 15-shillings sold
100-acres in Lawnes Creek Parish (part of the land sold by Mr. Robert Crafford
and wife, Elizabeth Crafford, to Matthew Swann who gave it to his daughter,
Sarah Swann, in his will dated December 14th 1702.) Land is bounded by said
Phillips and Col. Phillip Ludwell, and Carters Swamp. Signed, Carter Crafford,
Sarah (x) Crafford. Witnesses: Thomas Waller, Samuel Lancaster and Nicholas (X)

November 2nd 1708... Bond of Carter Crafford of Lawnes Creek Parish to William
Phillips for the land sold by Mr. Robert Crafford and wife Elizabeth Crafford
to Matthew Swann, now deceased. The land was willed by Matthew Swann to Mary
Phillips the wife of William Phillips and to Sarah Crafford now wife of Carter
Crafford and by there conveyed to William Phillips. Signed Carter Crafford.
Witnesses: Thomas Waller, Samuel Lancaster and Nicholas (x) Thompson. Recorded,

November 9th 1708- Samuel Lancaster was granted the administration of the
estate of John Harris. Security by Samuel Lancaster, William Chambers and John
Harris on the estate of Unity Harris, deceased.

January 24th 1711... Will of James Allen, Leg: to brother Arthur Allen
1400-acres of land granted to me by Patent on April 25th 1701 situated on the
south side main Blackwater Swamp, part in Surry and part in Isle of Wight,
except 700-acres of land which I have sold to Thomas Pittman, and Samuel
Lancaster and 300-acres which I have sold to Robert Lancaster Jr. and also
200-acres which I have sold to Joseph Wall, all of which said three parcels of
land on part are part of above patent, and I gave them to my loving brother,
John Allen and his heirs, etc. and he confirms the three pieces of land to said
parties as soon as possible after my decease bequeaths Negro slaves to loving
mother, Katherine Allen, for her life, at her death to brother, Joseph Allen.
To Margaret Crocker wife of John Crocker 1000 lbs. tobacco, to cousin, Arthur
Bridger, when he is 21 to be paid by executors and small silver tankard Val
four pounds. Rest of estate to be divided between all my brothers and sister,
viz. Elizabeth Bridger, wife of William Bridger, John Allen, Arthur Allen, Ann
Allen, Mary Allen and Joseph Allen. All to receive legacy at 18 years old.
Makes brother, John Allen, Executor, dated January 24th 1711 witnesses: Thomas
Drew, Richard Taylor. Probated February 20th 1711.

August 19th 1712... John Allen, Gentleman, to Samuel Lancaster for 5-shillings
sold 350-acres on south side of Blackwater Swamp (part of a patent to James
Allen on April 25th 1701 for 1400-acres and by him willed to John Allen) and
bounded by Robert Lancaster, Jr. and Thomas Pittman. Signed, John Allen.

August Term 1712... John Allen appearing in Court and acknowledging Deeds of
Lease and Release and Bond for a certain tract of land sold to Samuel Lancaster
the same are therefore ordered to be recorded.

November 20th 1716... Henry Hart eldest son and heir of Ann Sheppard who was
sister and heir of John Sheppard to John Allen land on lower Chip Oakes (now in
the possession of Samuel Cornwell of Lawnes Creek Parish or Lemuel Hargrove and
Charles Pitts as tenants to the said Cornwell). Land was supposed to be
conveyed to the said Cornwell by Thomas Hart, deceased, late of Isle of Wight
County. Land was first devised to the above John Sheppard who willed it to his
heir at law, Henry Hart. Signed, Henry Hart. Witnesses: Samuel Lancaster,

County to Thomas White of the same for 10-pounds lawful money 200-acres on
south side of Main Blackwater Swamp adjoining Thomas Holloman (as by a patent
granted said Pittman on December 23rd 1714.) Signed, Thomas (X) Pitman,
Elizabeth (x) Pittman. Witnesses: Joseph Holloman and Samuel Lancaster.

To son, Benjamin wearing clothes, ect. Daughter Elizabeth, bed, pewter dishes
and plates, ect. Daughter, Anne, pewter dishes and plates, etc. Daughter Mary,
pewter dishes and plates, etc. Wife all rest of estate and makes her executor.

land granted to James Allen on April 21, 1701. This 100 acres is the upper part
of 350 acres which was sold to the said Samuel Lancaster). Land is bounded by
the Great Branch and the Huckleberry Branch. Signed, Samuel Lancaster.
