Notes

In the 1850 Coosa Co. AL census, Amanda Bishop, age 20 is living with the Samuel Pruett family. George Bishop, age 18 is living with the Nathaniel Ford family. Isaac Bishop, age 12 is living with the Joseph Adair family. Polly Bishop, age 40 and Joseph Bishop, age 5 are living in the POOR HOUSE.

"By 1845, Samuel was thirty-nine years old and had established himself in his new community and was serving as Justice of the Peace in Coosa County. In that capacity, he officiated at his son James's wedding on January 14. (See below). The next official record of Samuel is the 1850 census of Coosa County. The name is now spelled "Pruett" and the entry lists Samuel (age 45) and his son James B. Pruett (age 22). Both are listed as farmers. Others in Samuel's household are listed as wife Mary (43), Robert (18), Wiley (11), Samuel (6) and Amanda Bishop (20). Family researchers have not, thus far, determined who Amanda was and what position she occupied in Samuel's household."
