Funeral services for Willie Leslie “Junior” Lomax, Jr., 76, were held on Monday, January 16, 2012 in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home-Decatur County with Mike Yarbro officiating. Interment followed at Peace Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Lomax passed away Friday, January 14, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Lomax was born November 11, 1935 in Decatur County to the late Willie Leslie Lomax Sr. and Hazel Ester Pratt Lomax, and was married to Robbie Lee Montgomery on April 21, 1957. He was a self-employed truck driver and did timber work for several years. Mr. Lomax was a member of Lord’s Missionary Baptist Church, was a Sunday School teacher and a pianist. He organized the Spirit Filled Quartet and loved to play and sing gospel songs. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Timmy Lomax. He is survived by his wife, Robbie Lomax of Decaturville; three sons, Terry Lomax (Terri), Garry Lomax (Paige) and Randy Lomax, all of Decaturville; eight grandchildren, Deanna Reeves, Jerod Lomax (Erica), Chas Lomax, Lillian Lomax, Savanna Lomax, Glen Reed, Justin Santoro and Cassie Tharp; three great-grandchildren, Hayley Reeves, Landon Reeves and Peyton Lomax; special cousins, Billy Lomax and Wanda Spence; and special aunts, Alice Haggard and Opal Pratt. Serving as pallbearers were Larry Lindsey, Bill Barber, Tracy Hendrix, Johnny Pratt, Billy Lomax and Gene Scott.
