MONTGOMERY, Dr. John Wesley, was a distant relative of our many early Montgomerys. Born in 1855, he like so many others, was largely self-trained. He married Tiny Ross who was born just as Civil War clouds gathered (1860). His practice was mostly around Shady Grove between Sardis and Saltillo. He made occasional calls to our area. Children who reached maturity were: Clara (Mrs. Lester) Johnson; Hillery (married Minnie Duck); Pearl (Mrs. Columbus-Lum) Jones; Erma (Mrs. Will) Ross; and Homer (married Tinsie Stanfill). Granddaughters living here are: Rhee (Mrs. Floyd) Alien and Maggie (Mrs. Ozro) Millner.
