A commission of administration is granted William Edwards (as greatest Creditor) of the Estate of Thomas White, deceased (with the Will Annexed) (the said Will being proved in Court by the oath of Mr. John Thompson and ordered to further proved at the next court ye, other evidence to the said Will not being now present) the said Edwards giving security according to law. Robert Lancaster, entering himself in Court security for William Edwards due performance of his Administration on the Estate of Thomas White with annexed is accepted and ordered that they give bond accordingly. Mr. Mathew Swann, Mr. Thomas Hart and Mr. William Chambers or any two of them are ordered to appraise the Estate of Thomas White, deceased being thereunto first sworn before one of the Justices of the Peace for this County, and Ordered that William Edwards, Administrator of said deceased Estate do at the next Court present the same and make oath thereto.

Robert (Lancaster) Lanquishear of Upper Parish of Isle of Wight County being sick and weak by in sound and perfect sense and memory. First, I bequeath my Soul to God that gave it in hopes of glorious Resurrection at ye Last Day and my body to be decently buried according to ye discretion of my executors hereafter mentioned and all my worldly goods as please Almighty god to endue me with all I bestow them in manner and form following... Primis, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife my best feather bed and furniture belonging to it... Item, I give unto my wife three broke horses, named Fox, Derrick, and Puppy, and half ye cattle, half ye sheep, ye hogs, ye plantation at Blackwater, during her life and all ye pewter, that belonged to her before I married her and one ten gallon kettle and all ye rest of ye small brass, and ye iron pot, that was hers before I married her and her choice of ye couches, an small trunk, and my desire is that my two sons and daughter may bear their equal part with my wife in funeral charges and the doctor accounts....

I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Unity Lanquishear my next best feather bed, rug, and blanket, sheets belonging to it... Item, I do give and bequeath to my grandson Samuel Lanquishear one large iron pot with the hooks and hinges belonging... Item, I give to my grandson William Lanquishear ye plantation at Blackwater after my wife's decease to him and his heirs lawfully begotten of his own body.

I do give to my son Robert's Eldest daughter one bed, rugg, blankets, sheets, and my desired is that all remainder of my estate be equally divided between my two sons and daughter...I do ordain my loving wife, and my son to be my whole and sole Executor and Executrix of this my last will, renouncing all former wills that shall be produced as for Verbal or written and do assign this to be my last Will and Testament...as witness hereunto I have set my hand and fixed my seal this 28th day of April 1720... Robert Lancaster died between April 28th 1720 and May 23rd 1720. At a session of court held for Isle of Wight County, Virginia on May 23rd 1720, Robert Lancaster's will was presented to the court by Sarah, his widow, Executrix who made oath thereto and being proved of with witnesses is admitted to record, signed by H. Lightfoot, clerk. It should be noted that although the surname in the will is written as Lanquishear, the above court document records it as Lancaster. His estate was appraised by John Brantley, Richard Gray and Benjamin Hoddg (Hodges) (one of the witnesses of the will) and Robert Lancaster Jr.
