GRADY LEON SHAVERS Funeral services for Grady Leon Shavers, 73, of Decaturville, were held Monday, August 8, 2011 in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home-Decatur County with Bro. Mike Yarbro officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Shavers passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born November 28, 1937 to the late John Henry and Cora Mae Hughes Shavers in Scottsboro, Alabama. In addition to his parents, Grady was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Pratt Shavers; one brother, Cecil Shavers; and one sister, Elizabeth Warren. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Shavers and wife, Tesa of Atwood and Jackie Shavers; two daughters, Theresa Yant and husband, Mike of Pulaski and Rosemary Wheeler-Mickey Overman of Lexington; one brother, Paul Shavers of Bath Springs; and two sisters, Margaret Duke of Decaturville and Mable Reiger of Ohio. Other survivors include seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers were Keith Shavers, Daymon Shaffer, Jeffery Shavers, Timmy Shavers, Eric Shavers and Robert Lindsey. |
