Note

Shirley Mae Brawley

Shirley Mae Brawley, 88, of Jackson, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Jan. 26 at Northbrook Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born April 25, 1936 in Decatur County to the late Gilbert and Martha Brawley. She love the Lord, attending services with her friends and reading her Bible. Northbrook was wonderful to provide these services for their residents.

Shirley loved decorating, crafting, flower arranging, and making necklaces and jewelry and gifting these things to others. She enjoyed competitive fun games of Dominoes, especially with her dear friend, Carol Mills. "Miss Shirley" was well-known for her sparkling fashion style and adornment. Her face would light up a room when she received complements on the jewelry she made and wore.

She is survived by cousins, Celia Hillhouse Murrah, Sherry Hillhouse Cox, Crystal Clinton, Ricky King, Eddie Holloway, James Holloway, Jr. Brawley, Brown Brawley, Dorothy Dollar and Linda Mays.

She was preceded in death by her parents and cousins, Opal King, June Turner Holloway and Sula Turner Hillhouse.

Graveside services were held in Old Center Cemetery in Bath Springs, Tenn. at 11 a. m. on Monday Feb. 3 with Dennis Cordle officiating. Burial followed.

Our family is indebted to Carol for her support and friendship and to Northbrook Nursing and Rehab Center for their loving care.

Reed's Chapel - Decaturville was in charge of arrangements.
