Obituary for Mrs. Sheila Ann Herndon

Sheila Ann Herndon, age 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Scotts Hill, Tennessee, on April 9, 2026.
Sheila was born on December 14, 1956, in Parsons, Tennessee, to the late Roger and Rachel Cotham Hayes.
Sheila was known for her friendly spirit and warm smile. She never met a stranger and was affectionately known by many as “a pistol” due to her lively and outgoing personality.

A woman of strong faith, Sheila loved singing at her church, City of Refuge, where her voice and joyful heart touched many lives. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, including thrifting at Goodwill and attending local races.

Above all, Sheila cherished her family. She deeply loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Jerry Herndon; her two sons, Jeremy Bartholomew (Leslie) and Damon Brawley (Jamie); two daughters, Jennifer Herndon and Cassie Scott (Matt); eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and special caretaker, Anita Herndon.

She was preceded in death by one son, Chris Herndon and her brother, Jimmy Hayes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Darden Pentecostal Church, with interment to follow at Duke Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday 10 AM – 1 PM at Darden Pentecostal Church.

Sheila will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her kind heart, and the love she shared with everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and faith that will never be forgotten.
