Sybern Washinton Riggs, born February 15, 1924. Enlisted in the U. S. Army June 14, 1944, and served with 9th Inf. Div. Arty., as a automotive mechanic. Countries served in: Germany, Nov. 13, 1944 - June 1, 1946. Discharged June 5, 1949 with rank of technican fouth grade.

Battles in which he participated: Rhineland Central Europe. Awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, EAME Theater Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal WWII and Army of Occupation Medal Germany.

Sybern passed away February 12, 1991. He was the son of Walter Herbert and Esther Mae
(Rhoades) Riggs. Married to Maxine Hayes Riggs and had five children: Janice Riggs Reigle, Sherry Riggs Bower, Iris Riggs Tolley, Linda Riggs Butler, and Beverly Riggs Miller. Submitted by Maxine Riggs.
