Terry McCoy Gray "Coy"

Terry McCoy "Coy" Gray, 61, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010. Coy was a loved and loving husband, father, brother and "pop" to his family, and he will be missed. He was a member and former elder of Petersville Church of Christ and a retired Reynolds/Wise machinist and member of Local Union 1189. He was an avid Alabama fan whose greatest passions were church, family and camping with many wonderful friends.

Coy was preceded in death by his father, Grady Gray.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Roberson Gray; mother, Lucille Holden Gray; son, Jerry Gray; daughter and son-in-law, Tolonda and Doug Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Myra Gray; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Betty Gray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Jimmy Medley, Brenda and James Trotti, and Janet and Ricky Balentine; grandchildren, Luke, Landon and Savannah Montgomery, Allie and Colin Gray, and Brandon and Kameron Wallace. He was also loved by many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Petersville Church of Christ, with Alex Gear, James Farris and Robert Huffaker officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will include Donnie Bevis, Sam Blackmon, Gary Crow, Wayne Fowler, E.H. Patterson and Charles Watkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Alexander, Russ Butler, Larry Hipps, Dewayne Oakley, Terry Oakley, Alden Thigpen and Malcolm Wilkes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ's "Alex Gear Scottish Missionary Fund," 1207 Sherrod Ave., Florence, AL 35630 or Mars Hill Bible School, 698 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence, AL 35630.

The family wishes to express its thanks to Dr. Felix Morris, the Northwest Alabama Cancer Center and the sixth-floor nurses of ECM Hospital for their compassionate care.
