Mr. Gentry Blant Butler, (aka: Buddy Butler) died Saturday, December 19, 2009 in Chattanooga, TN hospital due to complications of a surgery and stroke at the age of 64.

The son of the late Elton and Louise Butler, he was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War and an Engineer by trade. He had graduated from Collinwood High School in the class of 1963.

Gentry is survived by his first family, former wife Barbara (Harper) Long; two children, Ginger LouAnn (Butler) Hudson of Flintstone, GA and Joseph Blant Butler of Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren; , Jordan Blant Butler, Georgia Hudson, Alivia Hudson, David Hudson, and Brianna Hudson. He is also survived by three brothers and their spouses; Elgie Butler, Ralph Butler, and Dennie Butler; eight nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

He was buried in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on December 23, 2009.

Mr. Gentry Butler, 64, of Bridgeport, Alabama, died Saturday, December 19, 2009, in a Chattanooga hospital.

The son of the late Elton and Louise Burgess Butler, he was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War and had worked as an engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Ronita Butler; 3 children, Jaime (Loran) Anderson of Wilton, ND, Charles (Lori) Wells of Chattanooga, Chris Wells of Jasper; 3 brothers, Ralph Butler, Dennie Butler, and Elgie Butler; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held at Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East 5th Street, Jasper, TN on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 6:00pm Central time.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
