George and Aunt Mary had no children of their own but took in several foster children to raise. Many of them took the Welch name. Aunt Mary Jane, John Ridley Welch who at one time was married to Roberta close friend of Edna Welch Butler. Aunt Mary Jane kept a wine cellar with home brew.
