Moore, Nathaniel
Nathaniel and Margureth Phillips Moore came to Perry/Decatur Co in 1828 from Surrey Co, North Carolina. they settled near Perryville. Their children were: Alfred Lynch, Margaret Peggy, Tennessee "Tennie", and Mary all born in North Carolina. Also Bedford William born in Bedford Co on 5 September 1828. After the new baby and mother were able to travel, they continued on to Perry county.Nathaniel's first land grant was entered in 1828 for land near Perryville. In 1850, a second grant was entered for 100 acres.
This family had originally come to America from Glasgow, Scotland. Nathaniel was a blacksmith.

Note

In the 1870 census, Nathaniel Moore, age 82, is living in the household of his son-in-law, Samuel J. McGlaughlin.
