Gabriel Scott Lancaster

Graveside services for Mr. Gabriel Scott Lancaster, age 85, were held Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the Asbury Cemetery in Knoxville with Rev. Robert McCray officiating.

Mr. Lancaster, born in Scotts Hill, Decatur County on April 7, 1917 died Saturday, April 6, 2002 in Knoxville. He is the son of the late Vester Arthur (Bess) and Callie Montgomery Lancaster. He was a retired employee of Gates-Armstrong Rubber Co., in Nashville and a member of First Baptist Church of Old Hickory, TN.

He is survived by his daughter Wanda and husband Eddie Banks of Loudon, one sister Zelma Wright of Decaturville, one adopted grandson Keith Huffaker and wife Katy and daughter Ann Elizabeth of Dandridge, best friends Shirley and Calvin Letsinger of Concord, several sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and UT football friends.

Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Mays Lancaster, his parents, brothers Babe and Ack Lancaster and sister Lima Houston.
