Edward Louis Shutt Edward Louis Shutt, 90, of Decaturville, TN, passed away Saturday, September 5th, at his home. Ed was born January 22, 1936 in Decatur County to the late Joe and Jessie Shutt. He was a 1954 Decaturville High School graduate and was a long-time member of Old Center Methodist Church.He worked most of his adult life as a carpenter, working many years for Decaturville Lumber Co. building many house around this area. He last worked at Raney Truss Co. before retiring. He sang several years in his family's gospel group, "Tucker Shutt and The Wanda Lomax Trio". Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Nina Sue Shutt, his son, Ricky Shutt, 3 brothers, Tucker and Joe Walter Shutt and an infant brother. Ed is survived by his daughter, Eddie (Gary) Adkisson, of Decaturville; two sisters, Wanda (Odis) Lomax, of Decaturville; Peggy (Ira) Thurston, of Decaturville; daughter-in-law, Vickie Shutt, of Glade Springs, VA; sister-in-law, Retha Shutt, of Decaturville. He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren - Mandy Middleton, of Decaturville; Amy (Steve) Brooks, of Decaturville; Melanie (Jeff) Hicks, of NC; Crystal (Jacob) O'linger, of VA; Breanna (Matt) Burke, of VA. His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, Sept. 7th at Reed's Chapel, Decaturville, TN, with Dennis Cordle officiating. Burial will follow in Old Center Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 4 PM - 9 PM and Monday 9 AM until service. |
